Presentation Details:
In this webinar, Danielle will delve into the concept of arousal in dogs and its fundamental role in shaping canine behaviour. She will illustrate how enabling dogs to regulate their arousal levels can significantly enhance their ability to progress in training. Whether it involves a dog exhibiting distance-increasing behaviours due to fear, or an exuberant young dog learning self-regulation for an agility course or to go to a cafe, arousal regulation is the key.

A critical aspect of this process is teaching dogs to manage their arousal in a safe and supportive manner that avoids overwhelming them. Danielle will explore strategies to gradually build a dog’s ability to cope with heightened arousal by working within their thresholds, ensuring they feel secure and empowered throughout the learning journey. By fostering a calm and controlled environment, owners can help their dogs make steady progress in regulation skills while maintaining trust and emotional stability. This presentation promises to equip attendees with practical insights and strategies for fostering arousal regulation in their own dogs, paving the way for ethical, trust-based training outcomes.
