My name is Laura, I'm a veterinary behaviourist (provisional CAB member) based in Manchester, UK. I qualified as a veterinary surgeon from the Royal Veterinary College in 2019. Following this I undertook a rotating internship at a busy emergency hospital. I wanted to gain a deeper understanding of how to provide care at all levels to the patients I was seeing. I understood that emotional and cognitive health is just as important as physical health and wanted to explore this further. I undertook a masters degree at The University of Lincoln which I completed in 2021 with my thesis focusing on improving the veterinary experience for cats. Following this I started to work in behaviour referrals alongside my usual job as a veterinary surgeon. I now work in a busy multidisciplinary hospital providing behavioural services.
