To apply scroll down to Step 4 to fill in the form, but please read previous steps first.
Step One – Assessment of Practical Skills
APBC Full members are practicing behaviourists who have been assessed against the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC) ABT or CAB Standards. This can be achieved via the APBC Assessment process or assessment via another ABTC assessor organisation that assesses for the role. Once you have successfully had your Practical Skills assessed, then you can apply for Full membership and move to Step Two.
Step Two – Commitment to Continuous Professional Development
Full members are required to undertake a minimum of 30 hours of Continued Professional Development each year. This must include your reflections on the value of the CPD undertaken and how it will impact your practice. The APBC provides a wealth of webinars and conferences throughout the year to provide you with excellent opportunities for CPD.
Step Three – Read APBC Code of Practice
All Full members must abide by the APBC Code of Practice. Please ensure you have read this and agree to this before proceeding with your application.
Step Four – Complete Application Form
Step Five – Application Approval
Please DO NOT send payment until your membership application has been approved. We will invoice you for full membership.
Once we have received your complete application, it will be reviewed at the next membership committee meeting. This committee meets fortnightly. Please be aware that, depending on when you submit, it may be 2-3 weeks before you are notified as to the success or otherwise of your application. If you are not successful, we will advise what you need to do next to become a successful candidate.
