About Me:

Rachel Rodgers is an experienced Clinical Animal Behaviourist, dog trainer and educator based on the Shropshire/Cheshire border. She is the founder of Nose to Trail Pet Behaviour Services, providing clinical behaviour support and training for dogs and their owners. Rachel incorporates pet trailing and man trailing techniques where appropriate to support behavioural rehabilitation, enrichment and wellbeing.

Rachel holds an MSc in Applied Animal Behaviour and Welfare and a PGCE. She is an APBC-accredited Clinical Animal Behaviourist and ABTC-accredited practitioner, with over 12 years’ experience working in the animal behaviour and welfare sector, including previous roles with the RSPCA and Dogs Trust.

Rachel is also a founding member of The Canine School of Trailing, where she is involved in the development and delivery of education in man and pet trailing. Alongside her clinical work, she has extensive experience in training, mentoring and professional education within the animal sector.

Rachel's work has received national recognition, including Animal Behaviourist of the Year 2025 (UK) at the Pet Product & Services Awards, Best Dog Behaviour & Enrichment Services 2025 at the Northern Enterprise Awards, Clinical Animal Behaviourist of the Year at the Luxlife Awards in 2023 and 2024, and Dog Trainer of the Year at the North of England Prestige Awards from 2020–2024.

Rachel's own dog, Rico, was also recognised nationally in 2025 when he won the Animal Award at the BBC Make a Difference Awards. Rico is currently a finalist in the UK Service Dogs Medal of Honour Awards, recognising the difference he has made through his work and the unique partnership he shares with Rachel.
